{Taipei Day 2}: National Taiwan University (台大)

We woke up, washed up and went to the hotel's cafe for our breakfast! For a small family cafe like that, the buffet spread was adequate!

After trying their 鲁肉饭 for the first time, I helped myself to more servings of that! It was good, for my standard!

I forgot to mention this in my previous post, we got the EasyCard in their 7-11! This card is akin to our EZlink card, so you have to get it so as to travel conveniently on buses, MRT and some of their railway trains! You can get this at MRT stations and 7-11s. Get this card for NTD500, you can use the NTD400 inside, while the remaining NTD100 is a deposit for this card, no worries if you are not able to use finish the NTD400, refunds will be provided!

The usual sightings while walking to Ximen MRT station!

Very nice vintage building here!

The Starbucks Coffee. Throughout my stay in Taiwan, I saw that, almost all the Starbucks here are 2 storeys and above! A petty that we didn't have a chance or the time to visit an outlet here, I am sure the atmosphere here will be different from Singapore's.

This is a Starbucks outlet in Chengdu, China! Very interesting to see an international chain changing their exterior (and maybe interior) appearance so as to fit into a country's culture. However, the price still remains the same though! :(  Expensive coffee regardless of the place they are located at.

We asked someone to help us take a group photo while waiting for the train to arrive:) We were on our way to Gong Guang station, where National Taiwan University is situated near!

 It arrived!

The signage for their reserved seats!

Outside Gong Guan Station, we can already see NTU students-alike in this picture! To be honest, we had no inkling on how to get to NTU, but I thought we can just follow where the crowd goes, and indeed, it lead us to the entrance of NTU!

Just outside the train station, there were many bicycles parked in an orderly manner. Little did I know that, this was just the "appetizer"! Anyway, walk straight after you exit from the MRT station, and turn right at the turn (without crossing the road), you will see NTU!

NTU is a top-ranked university in Taiwan, and one of the famous alumni it has produced is Mr Ma Ying-Jeou, the country's current president!

Students cycling into the school, a rare sight in Singapore!

See the number of schools and buildings they have!

And you know what, this road reminds me of the road towards Changi Airport in Singapore! No wonder they have to cycle inside lar.

*Warning: Flower spam ahead!*

OMG, I really need to post the photos of these assorted flowers, they are just too pretty to not be shared! <3333333333333 I wished there were flowers like that in our school grounds too.

Their beautiful main library building! Knew this because I caught hold of a guy and asked him about that building. I wished there were guides who can bring us around to tour the school, so it can be a more fulfilling trip! #justsaying I know this will not happen because the school is not meant to be a touristy place in the first place. Oh yes, we weren't the only tourists there, I saw some tourists from China too!

Old school shot of our shoes! Love the patterns of the floor :)

Muahahah, made a GIF image of my jumpshots! There'll be more of these throughout the blog posts! :)

There you go, an upclose and nicely-taken shot of the library. (This photo doesn't seem to be taken by me though!) OMG, you see, people are even allowed to bring their dogs onto the school grounds, envy much.

Interior of the library! We were not able to get in without an admission card though. Sad!

 The exterior.

Anyway, the website that I use to make the GIF image is this website, I tried many others, but only this worked for me.

Now you realise taking jumpshots is a must for me at every scenic place, hahaha! Thank you to my friends for taking those photos for me too :)

Maple-leaves look-alike! Love these colourful leaves!

Really love these photos of me and Ah xue! We looked so demure here :)

Here comes the "main course!" I believe that there must be thousands of bicycles in the school.

By then, we were pretty tired and restless! Chanced upon this cafeteria and decided to head inside for a rest.

It was air-conditioned, we needed that!

The food stalls inside the cafeteria. We didn't tried the food as we were going to have steamboat buffet later on!

Ordered a bubble tea! Share Tea; also available in Singapore!

Then we were prepared to leave the school and head off to our next destination!

Had CC to take a photo of me with the flower bed :)

Thank you 台大! Although we didn't had a single clue on which place is which, I definitely enjoyed myself while exploring your school grounds! And by the way, this is definitely a less touristy place to visit.

Bye NTU!
