How do you define the word "happy"? What makes you happy?
I often see people comment things such as " I do not want to grow up, I want to return to the childhood times, the times when there were no troubles" , most of the time, I don't really agree with them. I mean, do you really remember how happy you were in the past? Or was it just a thought? The imagination that you were much happier in the past? Not anyone would agree with me, because I believe there are still a handful of people who still remember those childhood times.
Another sad thing is actually that, I can't seem to reach a consensus with friends who comment that secondary school is the best, and that those times were the happiest. Yes, I've met many good friends in my secondary school. However, when I think of the times when I was still in secondary school, all I could think of is actually the unhappy incidents that occured, the quarrels, the conflicts. All of them actually outweigh the happy things, so much that I don't even remember happy events that happened anymore. This seems pretty sad. To add on, it wasn't even fun with the endless mugging for O'levels, and the constant inner conflicts within myself that I can't even decipher till now.
For me, a day of happiness is something as simple as just a peaceful normal school day in school and maybe a walk with my dog when I return home. The day does not have to be an exciting one. A day with a schedule that goes from lecture - tutorial - project meeting - home sweet home would suffice for me. Happiness is also when I do not need to think about the day after. Happiness is when I get to eat my favourite food. Happiness is when I spend my own sweet time roaming around in the shopping mall with my favourite Gong Cha drink in my hand. Happiness is when I see my worksheets being organised neatly. Happiness is the moment when I arrive at a bus-stop, the bus I am waiting for arrives immediately in front of me. Happiness is when I get to spend quality time having talks with a few good friends. Happiness is when I get to watch my favourite drama. There's so many things that one can be happy about.
You define your own. To each his own.

Nice. To be thankful for everything no matter how small, is happiness. (:
